We asked Bohr, and other wine experts, to help us come up with a list of stellar gifts for wine lovers this season. The good news is, just as with wine, you can find a gem of a gift at every price point.
One of Bohr's favorite winerelated accessories, for example, is the poster map of the wineries of Burgundy that hangs in his apartment.
The best winethemed gift he ever received was a set of Riedel Sommeliers Collection Grand Cru Burgundy glasses courtesy of the wait staff at Nick Toni restaurant in the Hamptons. The servers offered the handblown crystal glasses, known for their power to greatly improve a wine mouthfeel, to thank Bohr, who created the restaurant's wine list, for enhancing their tips by boosting wine sales. He loves the ultradelicate glasses which he meticulously washes by hand and, he says, "profoundly change" his enjoyment of wine. The justreleased sixth edition of this seductive and informative tome is "the best one yet," says O who gives the book to experts and amateurs alike.
